Paula Bishop: Blown away by price increase Paula Bishop writes: I totally agree about the gas prices. The other day I was blown away when the prices went up to $2.45. So I will just buy enough to make it a day hoping they will go down. Saturday when I was in Elizabethtown the gas was $2.17 so guess what I filled up my car so that I would not have to pay the prices here in Campbellsville and Greensburg where I live. I buy which ever is cheaper Campbellsville or Greensburg. --Paula BishopComments re article 77968 Miss Vicky aligns with BJ Fudge takes action steps on toes 2015-09-27 14:34:50 | Comments | Printable version | See topic Letters and Reader Feedback

Miss Vicky aligns with BJ Fudge; takes action, steps on toes 'Some feel they don't want to say anything because they might step on toes. Toes need to be stepped on, even stomped sometimes to get the proper attention. Sore toes will heal. It isn't a permanent condition.' - MISS VICTORIA Comments about: Kentucky Color: Did you ever wonder? - About gas prices? By Vicky Pike Yes, I do wonder why at least once a week here lately. When the price of gas goes from $2.09 to $2.45 in one price increase and then the next day goes down to $2.29. In Bowling Green yesterday, it was $2.09 most places we passed. Something is wrong when prices bounce around like that in 48 hours when they don't other places. I am with Bill Joe on this adding to the problem of attracting people to our area or keeping those already here. Letter: Applauds Grider family remembrance at GRAS Paula Curry Pyles writes: I think that is great! I hope when I die that people don't waste money on flowers that are just gonna dry up. Nothing would make me happier than for people to help animals. Either do as this family did, or at least give food for these animals to eat. I would love for people to adopt these animals and give them a good home. Tom Chaney: A World Made New Of Writers And Their Books: A World Made New. Tom says that with Ken Follett’s writing beauty lies in what remains after the nonessential elements are stripped away. This column first appeared 17 October 2010. The next earlier Tom Chaney column: The Hero Takes No Crap By Tom Chaney A World Made New Ken Follett has been a favorite writer of mine for a bunch of years. He has created some dozen and a half fine adventure novels -- which contain spies and Nazis and assorted other villains. Wings of Eagles and Hammer of Eden come quickly to mind. A few years ago he blew me away with Pillars of Earth, an account of the construction of a gothic cathedral in the thirteenth century. Now he is at it again with Fall of Giants [Dutton, 2010].
