Click on headline for complete story By Ed Waggener G & G Motors, 1122 Campbellsville Road, Columbia, KY, was the low bidder and the winning bidder to supply a new 85 HP, 4 Wheel Drive, Mahindra Tractor with a bid of $29,650.00, when bids were opened this morning, Friday, July 24, 2015, at a special called meeting of the Adair County Fiscal Court. Adair County Magistrate Sammy Baker (District 3) moved for the purchase, with a second by Gregg Caldwell (District 6) , with Magistrates Daryl Flatt (2), Harold Burton (1), and Terry Hadley (7), and Billy Dean Coffey (5) joining Judge Executive Michael Lee Stephens for a 7-0 vote. Magistrate Perry Reeder (4), was not present. Other bidders were Hobdy, Dye, and Read, Columbia, KY; Wayne Supply Company; John Deere of Campbellsville, KY. While Mahindra tractors are new to the area, the biggest reason, in addition to the lowest price, was the reputation of Charles Giles, co-owner with Chaz Giles of the dealership. Magistrate Baker said, "You can't beat the service," a sentiment echoed by Greg Caldwell, who amenned, "Hands down." Along with the regular school nurse program, the addition of a Family Nurse Practitioner will allow for a high level of care within the school setting. The Family Nurse Practitioner, Tiffany McMinoway, will be available during school hours on a rotational basis through our schools to provide preventative services such as well child exams and immunizations along with acute care visits. Parents will have the option of allowing their student to be seen at school in the Healthy Kids Clinic in an efforts to provide more complete and prompt care, reduce time out of class for appointments, and increase academic opportunity. Jobless rates down in 118 Kentucky counties in June 2015 Russell County continues to struggle with rising unemployment. Adair County rates unchanged since May, show big gains over 2014. By Manoj Shanker, Cathy Lindsey Frankfort, KY -- Unemployment rates fell in 118 Kentucky counties between June 2014 and June 2015, but rose in Hancock and Russell counties, according to the Kentucky Office of Employment and Training, an agency of the Kentucky Education and Workforce Development Cabinet.

She was a secretary for Goff Motor Company, Owner/operator of Goff Florist for 20 plus years, and was a ward clerk and later worked in the business office at Jane Todd Crawford Hospital in Greensburg, KY. She worked at Fort Knox in the supply department. She worked at The Tax House for 8 years. She was the daughter of the late John Albert Beams and Lena Warren Beams, and the widow of Thomas Goff. She leaves eight direct living descendants, spanning four generations.
