Ed Pipalski: Does not totally buy Boyle's Law explanation

Ed Pipalski writes:
Hard to believe a multi-million/billion dollar industry failed to know to check the balls for air not helium and at ambient temperature at the game location (altitude/parametric pressure). With all the controls over the kicking balls to prevent the kickers from microwaving the ball to increase the air temp inside the ball and other modifications; it is a far stretch of credibility to think that these professionals just had an "oops" moment and unintentionally allow the air density to contract below the allowable pressure. Even kids in a pick-up game at the park know to check the ball's inflation in the New England area in the dead of winter.

Very well stated "plausible denial" though, Dr. Arnold; maybe you missed your calling and should have been an attorney. However, hats off; you are a true Patriot . . . fan! LOL - Ed Pipalski

Animal Odd Couples: The Little Pig and its protective cows

From Bellview community of Edmonton, Metcalfe County, KY

Discussing the case of Shirley Jones' missing adorable donkey this morning at breakfast, and the fact that the donkey would be missing her soul-mate, a cow, reminded Mrs. Marcum of a neighbor pig at Bellview in Metcalfe County.

"There was a little pig at Uncle Trib's place which was afraid of everything. Every time it would hear a loud noise or see something unusual, even me when I was just a small child, coming in to pasture, it would run under one of the cows bellies, and peer out with a funny look, almost daring anyone to come after her when she was in the protection of that cow. I believe that the little pig preferred the cows to its own mother," Geniece Marcum, my favorite mother-in-law, remembers.

"Uncle Trib" was Trib Leftwich, who owned the farm on the Glasgow Road where Bowling Park is now located. - EW
