Piper Lynn Kemp and Logan Blaine Bardin, the 2014 Little Mister & Miss Adair County Fair, traveled to Louisville Kentucky to the opening day of the Kentucky State Fair to complete in the 2014 State Little Mister & Miss Pageant and won fourth runner up out of seventy some couples.

William D. (Bill) Vaughan, 78, Russell Co., KY (1936-2014)

He was a native of Russell County, KY, and a resident of the county at the time of his death. He was the son of the late W.L. and Maggie Wooldridge Vaughan. He was the widower of Gloria Vaughan. He leaves 13 direct living descendants. He was a gas dealer.

Brent Harrison, 62, Casey County, KY (1952-2014)

He was a native of Casey County, KY, and a resident at the time of his death. He was the son of Mabrie Wilson Harrison, who survives, and the late Adrian Harrison. His wife of over 39 years, Glenda Harrison, survives. He leaves 16 direct living descendants. He was a gate dealer and a former employee of Cox Interiors.

TC Fire Dept. contains fire, but house has heavy smoke damage

Fire at 109 Graham Road, Taylor County, KY

Campbellsville, KY

Taylor County Fire Department responded to a reported house fire at 1:05pmET, Friday, August 15, 2014 at 109 Graham Road, Taylor County, KY. Upon arrival, found smoke and flames visible from the front of the residence, owned by Barth Hodges.

The fire was contained to the living room with the rest of the structure sustaining heavy smoke damage thoughout. The cause of the fire is believed to have been from an unattended candle.

The resdence was occupied by Kenny Armogost. No injuries were reported. The units of apparatus were on the scene and a total of 21 personnel.

Misty Padgett, 27, Russell Springs, KY (1987-2014)

She was a native of Lincoln County, KY, and a resident of Russell County, KY, at the time of her death. Her parents, Deborah Stephens Padgett and Anthony Padgett, survive. She is survived by her long time boyfriend, Joshua Hadley and many other relatives in the Lincoln and Russel Counties of Kentucky.

Mary Ella Smith Conner, 81, Russell Co., KY (1933-2014)

She was a retired educator, and a member of a highly regarded Russell County, KY, family. She was the daughter of the late Henry Wise and Hattie Mary (Antle) Smith of Font Hill, Russell County, KY. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Conner, and three brothers, Ernest, Bascum, and Hugh Smith.
