KSP alerting Nolin RECC members to billing scam By Tpr. Jeff Gregory, Public Affairs Officer Kentucky State Police Post 4, Elizabethtown ELIZABETHTOWN, KY - Kentucky State Police Post 04 along with Nolin RECC is asking the Cooperative members to beware of a billing scam. Nolin RECC CEO Mickey Miller contacted the KSP to report that several of the Cooperative customers/members were receiving phone calls from a male subject with a foreign accent asking for credit card information or a green dot Money Order to reconcile past due bills. Nolin RECC wanted everyone to be aware that they will never request payment over the phone. If you are late on your payment you should receive an automated message. If any customer has any questions about their bill they can contact Nolin RECC at 270-765-6153. These scams are common and once they are exposed to the public they generally die out. As a safety precaution KSP is advising the public not to place bills or other sensitive information in mail boxes with the flag up. This is a common way that criminals obtain information.
