The Wet-Dry Petition: Progress report not available - yet

Organizer Paul Carter is confident he'll have enough signatures in the time allotted, but is waiting for petitions to be turned in for verification

By Ed Waggener

A big issue to a number of people seems to have been on the back burner with the primary election now taking center stage, and after a telephone call with Paul Carter this afternoon, Thursday, May 15, 2014, the answer still isn't available.

Carter said that he thinks progress is really good toward reaching the almost 1800 valid signatures needed for a wet-dry election to be held. "But," he said, "I'm waiting for those people collecting names to get all their full pages of signatures back to me or to the person they got the petition from - then I can release an accurate number to the public."

He said that petitions can also be turned at PJ's Cycle & Recycle, 103 Richards Lane, Columbia, KY; at Potts Body Shop, 1099 Campbellsville Street, Columbia, KY, and at the Fiesta Mexico Restaurant, 819 Jamestown Street, Columbia, KY. Carter said that anyone needing information can call him at 270-384-1650.

Linda Waggener: Kudos for Making Math Fun in 6th Grade

Perfect USA Education would be for all ages - Every day learning

Linda Waggener writes:
This is to say thanks to the photographer, thanks to the students, thanks to the superintendent, principals, teachers and school board for allowing occasional glimpses of our young students in action. As a mature adult I've come to believe that education is everything - right after spiritual and family -- education is the key to unlock the doors of the universe. I believe in home education, Head Start, K-8, high school/GED, college, technical training plus lifetime learning. In a perfect USA, education would be provided to all ages - every day learning! - LINDA WAGGENER
