Thankful for Westlake, Adair EMS for heart care

Mary Cooley writes:
I agree with Sue Hutchison, I too have had serious heart issues that were treated by the Adair EMS and Westlake. Many thanks to them all and I sincerely ask our leaders to please find a way to keep this very much needed help in our county. We do not have all we wish we had, but we have life saving abilities. --Mary Cooley

Supports Westlake Regional Hospital

'Had it not been for the dedicated emergency workers of our local ambulance service and medical staff at Westlake Hospital, I would not have survived.' - SUE HUTCHISON

By Sue Hutchison

In recent months, there has been much discussion about our local hospital, positive and negative. I wish to voice support for our hospital. On November 29, 2013 I suffered a very serious heart attack. Had it not been for the dedicated emergency workers of our local ambulance service and medical staff at Westlake Hospital, I would not have survived. Within 5 minutes of arrival, I coded and required life-saving revival techniques. If I had tried to have gone to any other location for initial treatment, it is unlikely that I would have survived. The medical staff stabilized me so that I could be sent to Louisville for further treatment. I want to humbly thank all the medical workers who assisted with my initial treatment. Our community needs a functioning hospital for emergencies as well as on-going treatment of medical conditions. I support our hospital! Sincerely,
SUE HUTCHISON

DME, Inc. (Dakota Meyer Enterprises), 9719 New Campbellsville, KY, was awarded the contract for the Columbia/Adair County Utilities District Wastewater Treatment Plant site restoration and stabilization project, last night, Thursday, January 9, 2014, at the regular meeting of the board. The vote was contingent on Consulting Engineer David Bowles, of Monarch Engineering, re-checking details of the bid and subject, as well to Public Service Commission approval.

DME, Inc. was the low bidder of three for the work. The bids, opened just prior to the meeting, were as follows:
  1. $381,585.00 from DME, Inc., Campbellsville, KY
  2. $399,406.00 from Pyles Excavating, Columbia, KY
  3. $405,890.00 from Stotts Construction, Columbia, KY
Mr. Bowles said that, although DME, Inc., is a relatively new company, he felt that it could handle the job, relying, also, on the fact that a long term, highly regarded contractor, Darren Cleary, of Cleary Constrution, Inc., 2006 Edmonton Road, Tompkinsville, KY, is a 49% owner of DME, Inc. He said that would mean some reliable old faces with the new.

Comments re photo 53058 Ugly but not for long AdairRussell line water tank Billy Joe Fudge writes:
A lot taking place in the quasi-business and cultural district of Chicken Ridge along and near the upper reaches of Russell Creek, a major tributary of Green River. --
One note we all know that Green County is where, at their confluence, Mighty Russell Creek merges with trickling Green River to make the Green the major waterway it is. - CM.
