Columbia, KY driver swerves to miss deer, crashes

Driver treated and released at Taylor County Regional Hospital. Incident occurs today on Bengal Road in Taylor County, KY, investigated by Taylor County Sheriff's Office.

Sidney Coffey, 23, Clinton Street, Columbia, KY, was treated and released at Taylor Regional Hospital for injuries received in a single vehicle accident at 1:37pmET, today, Friday, October 25, 2013, on Bengal Road in Taylor County, KY. Ms. Coffey's was traveling south on Bengal Rod in Taylor County in a 2007 Nissan Versa when a deer ran into the pathway of here vehicle. She swerved to miss the animal and ran off the right hand side of the roadway, then reentered the roadway, and overcorrected. Her vehicle struck an enbankment and rolled over, ejecting her. She was transported to the hospital by Taylor County EMS. The Taylor County Fire and Rescue assisted at the scene. Taylor County Deputy Dickie Benningfield investigated the incident. News from Attorney General Jack Conway's Office

Attorney General Jack Conway today announced the arrest of a caretaker in south central Kentucky for wanton neglect of an adult.

24-year-old Danielle West, of Science Hill, KY, was arrested at her home, Friday morning by investigators from General Conway's Department of Criminal Investigations acting on a warrant obtained by the OAG Medicaid Fraud and Abuse Control Division.

CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY - Twenty-six students became the first class of Campbellsville University's new cosmetology school as the school was dedicated October 22, 2013, at the two buildings on Nancy Cox Drive in Campbellsville. KY.

Dr. Michael V. Carter, in his 15th year as president of Campbellsville University, said the school has been six years in the making, and it is a program needed for this area.

Mr. Robert Granvil Edwards, Sulphur Well, KY (1926-2013)

He was a native of Adair County, KY, a resident of Sulphur Well, Metcalfe County, KY. He was the patriarch of a highly regarded family. He was the son of the late Carlie and Elvyen Matney Edwards. His marriage to Lorene Beard Edwards, who survives, spaned a remarkable 67 years. He leaves 20 direct living descendants. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and attended the Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church. He was a U.S. Army veteran and retired farmer

At Columbia Church of the Nazarene, 1200 Jamestown Street, Columbia, KY we are celebrating 90 years of God's faithfulness. On Saturday, October 26 at 10amCT, there is a ladies event called, "Fill My Cup" that includes entertainment by Gaither recording artist, Allison Durham Speer.

On Sunday, October 27, 2013, there is a homecoming anniversary celebration at 10amCT, with dinner on the grounds following. Special music by Allison Durham Speer and the message from Dr. Gary Allen Henecke.

There is a 1pmCT concert on Sunday October 27, 2013, with Allison Durham Speer.
