Poetry from Pellyton: Just Talk to a Kentuckian

Just Talk to a Kentuckian
by Ramon Laval-Possel
At the edge of the circumstances
where my heart finds me tonight,
I can whisper to the moon,
or try to touch the sun
and all the minerals in the sky;
But why would I do that?
Just talk to a Kentuckian
while looking at his eyes
and you will see the moon, the sun
and all the elements of the sky
converging in those ancestral stories
that he doles out from
his heart.

Ramon, Circa: tonight
