He was a native of Russell County, KY, and a resident in the county at the time of his death. He was the son of the late Dr. Walter Bryan & June Moreland Traylor Miller. His wife, Deloris Kell Miller survives. He was a retired security guard at Ingersoll Rand and was a member of the Russell Springs Christian Church

Arlin Wheet, Adair County, KY (1946-2013)

He was a native of the Chance Community of Adair County, KY and a resident of the county at the time of his death. He was a member of a highly regarded family with deep roots in Adair and Metcalfe Counties of South Central Kentucky and elsewhere. He was the son of the late Simpson & Ebline Young Wheet. His wife, Pat Glass Wheet, survives. He attended the Church of Christ. He was retired from McCamish Manufacturing in Columbia, KY. He was a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran, and will be accorded full military honors by the DAV Chapter 20, Glasgow, KY at interment in Randolph, Metcalfe County, KY, where Don Franklin, Jr., will deliver the eulogy

Ther was a great turnout this morning at the Jim Blair Center for the first Color Blast 5k, with over 60 participants enjoying this beautiful morning to be out running and walking.

Adults participating were Colleen Wheat, Gary Tucker, Matt Hingle, Katie Yoder, Ann Melton, Brooke Walker, Eddie Franklin Jr, Melinda Franklin, Lillie Franklin, Kara Iqbal, Taylor Lawhorn, Terra White, Lisa Greer, Shannon Matney, Lance Reynolds, Ann moore, Tia White, Sue Crabtree, Ashley Day, Shirley Moss, Marketta Lawless, Brandy L Thompson, Allison Holeman, Benny Meyer, Karen L Withers, Obe Hingle, Mark Hingle, Lori Pickett, Daron Russell, Debbie Cowan, William H Steele, Adam Coomer, Megan Long, Miranda Burns, Tyler Absher, Katie Stone, Jennifer Kemp, Ellen Hingle, Emily Wall, and Rena Roberts.

Kids participating were Kelsi Walker, Alssa Simpson, Braxton Tucker, Jaxon Tucker, Emma Thompson, Zachary Steele, Emalee Steele, Gracie Thompson, Zaylen Tucker, Elliot Spurlock, Dan Hingle, Ryder Rodgers, Byron Rodgers, Jagger Kemp, Jaylee Kemp, Jazzy Kemp, Jasper Kemp,Jackson Dean, Hazel White and Elizabeth Jenkins.

COLUMBIA, KY - Columbia's population will swell by more than 25 percent this weekend, today and tomorrow, August 17 and 18, 2013. That's because more than 1,150 students are expected to move into Lindsey Wilson College residence halls for the 2013-14 school year, adding to the city's more than 4,400 residents.

Fall classes will begin the week of Monday, August 19 on the A.P. White Campus.

Travel: 2 of 3 southbound lanes, I-65, N of E-town will be closed

Concrete repairs scheduled to begin late Sunday night, August 18, 2013 for duration of two weeks. Only one lane southbound will be available. Detour recommended. However, All lanes will be open from Thursday afternoon through Sunday afternoon to better accommodate higher traffic volumes.

ELIZABETHTOWN, KY (August 16, 2013) - Contract crews will begin repairs along concrete sections of southbound Interstate 65 in Hardin County on Sunday night, August 18, 2013, requiring closure of two lanes. Only one lane will be available for southbound travel from mile point 103 (Rolling Fork River Bridge) to mile point 100 (just south of KY 313/Joe Prather Highway).

Gov. Beshear Celebrates Grand Opening of Amazon's New Customer Service Center

Company to create at least 550 full-time jobs in Winchester, invest more than $20 million in Kentucky. Amazon's presence in Kentucky includes fulfillment centers in Lexington, Campbellsville, Louisville and Hebron. The Winchester facility is Amazon's first customer service center in Kentucky

WINCHESTER, KY - Governor Steve Beshear joined local and company officials in the Winchester Industrial Park to celebrate the grand opening of Amazon's new 80,000-square-foot customer service facility.

Amazon is investing more than $20 million and creating more than 550 full-time jobs as well as hundreds of seasonal jobs at the site over the next few years.
