Carol Perkins: The Fourth of July

On the rainiest Independence Day, Our heroine made a none-too-satisfying trip - for her grandson Joseph and herself - to see Despicable Me 2 in 3D. That came with its own perils, but the subsequent grand moments with the 7 year old provided more adventures right up to a soft landing at home. 'Fishless and wet to the bone, we went back home, watched a movie, and listened to Fluffy bark at the neighborhood fireworks,' for the satisfying ending.
The next earlier Carol Perkins column: Carol Perkins: Paula Deen

Transportation, a trucking company operating from Ella, with routes from Florida to Pennsylvania to Arizona.

Chuck Hinman: Hogshooter, USA. Who would have dreamed that Chuck Hinman - this transplanted farm boy from tiny Liberty Nebraska - would have found and chosen this area to share his adult life. It was a perfect fit.

Hogshooter, USA

Every year in June a large bunch of bicyclists (around 300) make a week's journey across Oklahoma from south to North (a different route each year) and not much of it on freeways. Most is on the back roads. Next Thursday our rural church is a rest stop for "Free Wheel 2003."

One of Best Vacations ever: Houseboating on Green River Lake

Marian Grant highly recommends a week on the water in Holmes Bend Houseboat. 'You will not find a better place or people! I think we just forget what we have at our fingertips sometime,' She writes.

Usually when I think about a vacation I always think about going to the beach, but this year things were a little different.
