Meetings will be at noon each second and fourth Mondays, at Cranmer Dining Center. Feed em Beans coming soon. And club's annual auction will be Monday-Tuesday, April 29-30, 2013

April 2013 will be a busy month for Columbia Rotarians. The club plans to change its meeting time and has scheduled two of its popular annual events for next month.

Beginning April 8, Rotary will move its meeting times to noon to accommodate those who cannot fit evening meetings into their busy schedules.

Claude (C.O.) Hopper, Russell Co., KY (1939-2013)

He was a member of the Salem United Baptist Church and a Veteran of the US Army. He was retired from Georgia-Pacific in Cincinnati, Ohio where he had been a fork lift operator for 28 years. He loved fishing and NASCAR and was a fan of Bluegrass Gospel.

Russell Co., KY resident's body discovered in a structure fire

No foul play suspected, though death remains under investigation by Detective Ricky Brooks and Arson Investigator Alex Wesley. Faubush Fire Department, Russell County Coroner's office at scene in Nancy, KY area fire, located 41.1 miles from Columbia, KY according to (Google Map)

JABEZ, KY -At 12:48amCT, Thursday, March 21, 2013, Kentucky State Police, Post 15, Columbia, KY received a call for assistance from the Faubush Fire Department reference a body that was discovered in a structure fire. Units responded to 159 McClendon Road in Nancy, KY. Upon arrival units discovered the body of 49 year old, Porter Cain deceased in his home. At this time the cause of the fire is undetermined. No foul play is suspected. The death remains under investigation by Detective Ricky Brooks and Arson Investigator Alex Wesley. An autopsy was scheduled by the Russell County Coroner for today to determine the cause of death. - TPR CLINT WALKER.

CU named to national 'President's Honor Roll' 2nd year in row
