Decorating at Henry & Mary Ellen Lilly Hall:
Lindsey Wilson College student Keaira Harris of Danville, Ky., turned a hand-me-down Christmas tree into a centerpiece of her room in Henry & Mary Ellen Lilly Hall. The tree was given to her room from a roommate's grandmother, who had the tree in her nursing home room. This is photo three: Every day from Dec. 1-25, Lindsey Wilson College will feature a Christmas tree from campus offices, student residence halls and public buildings - DUANE BONIFER.

Quinn Lasley will be sworn in as School Board member tomorrow

New Adair County Board of Education Member from Division 2, Quinn Lasley will be sworn-in at 8:30amCT, Tuesday, December 4, 2012, in the Adair County Board of Education Conference room, 1204 Greensburg Street, Columbia, KY. She joins Chairman Floyd Burton (Div 4) , and members Mike Harris (Div 5) and Joseph Payne (Div 3) on the board. A fifth seat, for Division 1, is vacant and will be filled by Kentucky Department of Education Commissioner Terry Holladay.

Thanks to all who made Christmas in Columbia a success

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who participated in Christmas in Columbia. It was definitely a great success.

All events had wonderful attendance. So thankful the weather was great and the parade was beautiful. We had approximately 60 entries in the parade which made for a wonderful event.

Angel Tree needs help. Angel Tree helps children of inmates

Angel Tree needs sponsors for several Adair County children. Angel Tree is an organization with the mission of connecting imprisoned parents and their children with small Christmas gift cards and messages from their parents. It is a way for churches, organizations and individuals to help children who don't have their parent with them at the holidays. Single family dwelling sustains heavy smoke damage

Kitchen at Long Branch Road Residence, Taylor County, sustains heavy fire damage, as well in Saturday, December 1, 2012 blaze

News from the Campbellsville-Taylor Co. Fire Department

Four Campbellsville-Taylor County Fire Department units and 15 personnel were dispatched to a structure fire at property owned by Matthew Duffey. 2279 Long Branch Road, Campbellsville, KY, at 1:33pmET, Saturday, December 1, 2012. Upon arrival firefighters found a single family dwelling with fire showing from the rear portion of the residence. The kitchen suffered heavy fire damage with smoke damage throughout the residence. The cause of the fire has not been determined. No one was at home at the time of the fire. - Anne Sanders

LWC Women's Soccer team brings 3rd National title back home

COLUMBIA, KY - The Lindsey Wilson College women's soccer team returned Sunday afternoon, December 2, 2012m to the college's A.P. White Campus with the program's third NAIA national trophy and iconic red banner. Several dozen LWC students, faculty and staff members greeted the team at the Cralle Student Union Building, where an impromptu celebration was held.

LWC won the 2012 NAIA women's soccer national title Saturday night in Orange Beach, AL., with a 3-2 win over Olivet Nazarene (Bourbonnais, IL) University. It is the program's third national title. - Duane Bonifer

ACSO Deputy arrests man involved in domestic dispute

Adair County Deputy Adam Cravens responded to the residence of 5010 Greensburgh Road Sunday night on report of a domestic. Goldie Bybee and Jose Perez had been involved in an altercation at the residence where they live with two other roomates. Perez was charged with assault in the 4th degree and lodged in Adair Regional Jail. Kentucky State Police also responded to the scene. - Adam Cravens
