Fire Report: Control burn got out of Control The Portland Old Skating Rink Fire By Donald Hare, Public Affairs Officer Columbia/Adair County Fire Department The Adair County Fire Dept responded at 4:20pmCT, Friday, April 14, 2012, to the Old Portland Skating Ring. The property owners were in the process of tearing down the building and a control burn got out of control due to high winds. The property was totally destroyed by fire. My son in Salt Lake City bought a couple of these flower plants at a Home Depot last summer when he was landscaping his yard. What some may consider a "weed" others consider differently.
