Police helicopters, Barnetts Creek, Sanders Ridge area Click on headline for dispatch plus photo(s) Special Dispatch from Christine Martin There was a helicopter circling the Barnetts Creek and Sanders Ridge area around 10amCT, today (Friday, August 5, 2011) for well over 1/2 hour. I suspect they were searching for Marijuana and from the actions of those in the helicopter they found it.I believe they had ground support they were directing to the location but I couldn't get pictures. I could not see them from where I stood. Gregory, Public Affairs Officer Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY LIBERTY, KY - Trooper Mike Woodrum is investigating a collision that occurred at 04:30amET, Friday, August 5, 2011, on KY 501, eight miles south of Liberty, KY. Timothy Buis, age 19 of Liberty, was operating a 2000 Chevy car when he lost control of the vehicle, and struck a tree. Buis was not belted at the time of collision and was pronounced deceased at the scene.Trooper Woodrum was assisted by Casey County Sheriffs Department, Fire, EMS and Rescue.
