Holladay family story about Lingan Selby By Vonnie Kolbenschlag A ram pump could be easily called perpetual motion, although it takes water to keep it going. The first self-acting ram pump was invented by the Frenchman Joseph Michel Montgolfier in 1796 according to google history of the pump. It did bring water to a higher level. It was used very early at Homeplace on Green River to bring water up to the house. A new ram pump is partially installed there, and people will be able to see how it works. She hit a stretch on three holes where she missed greens and took bogeys. There have been many Selby kinsmen who have researched the prolific family from Selby, North Yorkshire, England to Prince George's County, Maryland and Green/Adair/Russell Counties, Kentucky and far-flung parts of the western states. Lingan Selby was one of several brothers who fought in the American Revolution and later migrated to Adair County. Open Tuesdays and Fridays during the garden season from 6am-10amCT Myra Harrison has had breakfast and is now in a real nice mood, and has the good news that today, Boss Blair is down from Pellyton and has a stall set up at the Farmers' Market. Farm fresh produce is a little better today, and things are picking up. "The rain yesterday was badly needed," Myra said. "the gardens are going to be really good now," she said. "I'm on my way now," she said, "but if your readers are so impatient they can't wait, tell them to get on down and see for themselves. Hold your horses. The National Institute on Aging (NIA), part of the National Institutes of Health, has some advice for helping older people avoid heat-related illnesses, known collectively as hyperthermia, during the summer months. Hyperthermia can include heat stroke, heat fatigue, heat syncope (sudden dizziness after exercising in the heat), heat cramps and heat exhaustion. The risk for hyperthermia is a combination of the outside temperature along with the general health and lifestyle of the individual.
