Over 50 students from 4 counties here for weather class By Greg Thomas, Director Adair County Emergency Management Adair County Emergency Management sponsored an Advance Weather Spotters Class this past Thursday night, April 15, 2010, which was taught by the National Weather Service out of Louisville, Kentucky. The class was attended by over 50 people from Adair, Taylor, Green, and Barren Counties. This class went over atmospheric conditions for thunderstorm development such as the way low and high presures work to create updrafts and downbursts. Multicell Cluster, Multicell Line, and Supercell Storms were all explained. Supercell Storms pose the highest threat and are the rarest of the three. Academics should be first concern About: Adair Co. School Board April 15 2010 meeting report I really think that the school board needs to consider their priorities. Academics should be their first concern. If a worth while industry wanted to locate any where around here, would they look at, baseball, football, basketball or even band, I think not. I truly think our first concern should always be academics! Sports and Band are important, but the level of education should always be at the top of the list for funding. This is an International competition! I for one can not think of a better way to bring attention to Adair County.
