Driver injured after pickup strkes rock wall E of Columbia, KY

ADAIR COUNTY, KY - At approximately 1:00pm, Tuesday, May 26, 2009, a a collision occurred 6 miles East of Columbia on Louie B. Nunn Parkway.

Timothy Lee Auler, age 46, of Morristown, TN was operating a 2001 Chevrolet 1500 pickup, not belted.

Auler was travelling west on the Louie B. Nunn Parkway when he lost control and struck a rock wall. Auler was treated and released at Westlake Regional Hospital, Columbia, KY.The collision is being investigated by Trooper Clint Walker, Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY.

Obituary: Geneva Mae Harper, 83, Edmonton, KY

Mrs. Harper was the head of a large, respected East Metcalfe County family. She was a member of Society Hill Baptist Church, and had retired after a 47 year career with Topps Safety Apparel in Emdonton, KY

Geneva Mae Harper, 83, Edmonton, KY, died Sunday, May 24, 2009, at TJ Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow, KY.

The funeral services for Geneva Harper will be held at 1:00pmCT, Wednesday, May 27, 2009, at Butler Funeral Home, 201 East ST, Edmonton, KY, with burial in the Society Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00pm until 8:00pmCT, Tuesday, May 26, 2009, and after 9:00amCT, Wednesday, May 27, 2009, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Bertha Matilda McCubbin Berry of Summersville, Kentucky, daughter of the late Elam McCubbin and Lillie Wilson McCubbin was born on October 5, 1918 in Green County, Kentucky and departed this life on Monday, May 25, 2009 at the Jane Todd Crawford Hospital in Greensburg. She was 90 years, seven months and 20 days of age.

The funeral services for Mrs. Bertha McCubbin Berry will be conducted at 1:00pmCT, Wednesday, May 27, 2009. at the Cowherd and Parrott Funeral Home, 206 S. Adair Genealogical Society meets Monday, June 1, 2009

The Adair County Genealogical Society will heol their regular monthly meeting Monday night June 1, 2009 at 6:00pmCT, at the Adair County Public Library. Everyone is encouraged to attend. The Adair County Genealogical Society, Membership renewal is due in January of each year. Meetings are held at the Adair County Public Library, 307 Greensburg St. Columbia, KY, on the first Monday night of each month, at 6:00pmCT.

The Adair County Review is a quarterly publication of the Adair County Genealogical Society. It is published in the Spring, Summer, Fall and Winter. it is received by all members of the Society. Membership is open to anyone interested in the preservation of history of Adair County and the surrounding counties of Casey, Cumberland, Green, Metcalfe, Russell and Taylor. Annual dues are $15.00. We as a community have done great to this point but we had our worst numbers yesterday - Let's show these young men how much we support them and finish this thing in 4th - We need two days of strong voting... When I say strong I mean back to the numbers we were at last week 2100, 2000, etc.

So, drop everyone you have already contacted a note and remind them to vote everyday this week this thing ends 12:00 Midnight on Sunday, May 31 - we must be relentless until then - So, Vote, get a friend to vote, get a relative to vote and Don't forget to vote each day! Let''s show the USA how much spirit this little town has for it's youth!

Vacation Bible School will be held at Great Oaks Ministries, 197 Kellyville RD, Columbia, KY, in the Coburg/Kellyville Community of Adair County, starting each night at 6:00pmCT, on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, May 28, 29, and 30, 2009. Willie is gone: Missing Family Pet; with update, he's home!

"Willie" is our nine year old miniature white poodle. He is white but has a painted blue stripe that runs down his back all the way to his poofy little tail. Springfield, KY driver injured in pickup/tree collision

Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY

WASHINGTON COUNTY, KY - Collision occurred at 1:09 p.m. on Chaplin Rd. in Washington County, KY on Sunday, May 24, 2009. Billy Yaste, age 54, of Springfield, KY was operating a 1992 Dodge Pickup, not belted. Yaste was traveling eastbound on Chaplin Rd when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. Yaste was transported by Washington County EMS to Flaget Hospital in Bardstown, KY. for non life threatening injuries. Trooper Brian Coy of Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY, is investigating.
