CU receives $480,000 James Graham Brown grant

Campbellsville University has received a $480,000 grant from the James Graham Brown Foundation Inc. that will allow the completion of the Hawkins Athletic Center, according to Dr. Michael V. Carter, president of the university.

Driver injured when stopped vehicle starts to roll

Attempt to put exited vehicle in park goes awry

Shirley E. McGinnis 69, Bethelridge, KY, was transported to Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital after an accident which occurred at Bethelridge, KY, at 10:46am, Tuesday December 5, 2006.McGinnis was operating a 1997 Chevrolet pickup and exited the vehicle to open a gate, failing to put the vehicle in park.

Children claim hunger and abuse; aunt is under arrest

Details just now released by police about November 8th incident where children walked into WHVE and asked for help. Arraignment is December 12, 2006, in Adair Circuit Court for the woman accused in this widely publicized abuse, food denial story

A woman whose address is in Adair County is free on $5,000/10% bond ($500 cash posted) after being indicted on 4 counts of criminal abuse 1st degree.She is scheduled for arraignment in the session starting at 1:02pm on December 12, 2006, in Adair Circuit Court.

Terri N. Bouschee, whose address on the bond is 7948 Russell Road, Russell Springs, KY (Adair County near the Russell Creek hills and across the road from WHVE Radio) was arrested on November 9, 2006, following an investigation by Trooper B.J. Burton of Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY.

Hishamar Falconer is National Player of the Year

LWC has six NAIA All-American soccer players: Rowena Alsanea also on All-American first team. Senior Falconer is the first LWC women's soccer player to earn national player of the year

Six Lindsey Wilson College women's soccer student-athletes earned national recognition for their play during the 2006 national championship season.

Lindsey Wilson senior midfielder Hishamar Falconer has been selected the 2006 Brine-NAIA Women's Soccer Player of the Year.

Blue Raider senior defender Rowena Alsanea joins Flaconer on the All-American first team.

New Life for the Nations has full day of activities Dec. 17, 2006

  • Christmas play at 9:30am
  • Keltners celebrate 50th anniversary in afternoon
  • Christmas music at 6:00pm
On Sunday morning, December 17, New Life for the Nations will have its Christmas program which includes the pre-school, children, youth and the adults. Included will be the play, "Christmas on Merry Lane," directed by Barbra Burton. Service begins at 9:30am CT.

Walker Smith had two lung transplants when he was two years old.

He has spent most of his life in the hospital since that time.

The medical bills have been piling up and the Smiths have enough to worry about as it is.
