PRIDE honors ACHS and CWC Garden Friends

Garden Friends PRIDE CLUB, joint program of Adair County High School and Colonel William Casey Elementary School receive honor. Individuals credited with success of program are Debbie Bradshaw, Sheila Willis, Arlinda Kessler, Don Franklin, Daryl Bradshaw, Pat Smith, Rev. Joe Payne, credit also to local businesses and banks, Adair County Schools

The Garden Friends PRIDE Club earned the PRIDE Environmental Education Project of the Month award for August 2006. The club, which is a joint program by Adair County High School (ACHS) and Colonel William Casey (CWC) Elementary School, was honored for its vegetable garden.

Veterans Day 2006 Program at Wal-Mart

A large crowd has turned out for the Veterans Day breakfast at Wal-Mart on Jamestown Street in Columbia, KY, on a beautiful November 10, 2006.

The Veterans Day Program started at 9:00am following a hearty breakfast..

Veterans Day 2006: Howard Bailey verse, I AM A SOLDIER

A moving, 4 minute, 10 second CD, I AM A SOLDIER, has been released, featuring the words of Howard Bailey read by Jim Williams, both veterans of the Vietnam War.

The CDs are $5 each and are available in City Hall, the Adair County Public Library, and the Flower Garden.

Background music is by Danny Bailey.

Mr. Redmon was a truck driver and a member of the Russell Springs United Methodist Church

Randall Lee "Randy" Redmon, 40, Columbia, KY, passed away suddenly, Wednesday, November 8, 2006, at 2:46pm in Springfield, IL.

The funeral service will be Sunday, November 12, 2006, at 1:00pm, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY, with Rev. Jim Kingrey the officiating clergy.

Forbes goal lifts LWC into regional championship

Win last night earns automatic bid to National Tournament

COLUMBIA, Ky. -- Lindsey Wilson College sophomore reserve Marshall Forbes scored the game's only goal as the Blue Raiders beat visiting University of the Cumberlands (Ky.) 1-0 in the NAIA Region XI Tournament semifinals on Thursday at Lindsey Wilson Park.

The Blue Raiders (10-9-0) advance to the regional championship at 7pm CT on Friday, where they will meet fourth-seeded Mid-Continent (Ky.) University. The Cougars (15-3-3) upset top-seeded Bethel (Tennessee) College (15-4-2) 2-0 in the first regional semifinal tonight.
