Lonnie Turner said he should wear a T-shirt thatsays, "I dont do goats; I do water." Turner, who grew up on Greasy Creek in Harlan County, Ky., was the last of eightchildren in his family. Now, he and his wife, Fran, who grew up on Straight Creekin Harlan County, work with people in Zambia digging wells for them. Two injured in Marion accident involving 3 vehicles Two people were injured in an accident involving three cars in Lebanon, KY, this afternoon, Friday, August 11, 2006, at 5:00pm. Roger Ferguson, 45, Columbia, KY, was operating a 1978 Chevrolet, westbound on Main Street in Lebanon, KY. According to the Kentucky State Police, Ferguson swung too wide attempting a right turn. Columbia Restaurants in running for Blue Plate Awards Four restaurants, two in Columbia and two with local ties are in the running for Blue Plate Awards from Prep Magazine: Catfish Plus, Lindsey Wilson College's cafeteria, Sixth and Main Coffee in Shelbyville, and Lucy Tucker's in Greensburg, KY. Adair County Water District Aug. 10, 2006 Report: Monarch wins Adair County Water District awards bypass work to Monarch Engineering based on cumulative board member ratings. Flat Rock Road residents told they may get water as soon as two months. Water treatment plant, Shepherd Main and Water Tank project moving along nicely. District will buy new Ingersoll Air Compressor for $11,500. District working to supply better Fire Truck tank filling at Breeding. District will enter into agreement to supply water to major, 52 home, Joe Pyles development on Corbin Bend Road. By Ed Waggener The Adair County Water District (ACWD) Board voted to have General Manager Lenny Stone enter into negotiations with Monarch Engineering for engineering services for the construction of the District's water line around the Western Bypass of Columbia. The action was taken at the District's regular monthly meeting, Tuesday, August 10, 2006, at the Districts Grant Lane headquarters.
