Overstreet receives honor as number-one lender



2006-07-02 - Columbia - Photo Linda Waggener. DARRELL OVERSTREET RECEIVED AN AWARD FROM GARY CROCKETT, Area Sspecialist with USDA Rural Development, Columbia office, last week. It was to honor him for being the number one lender from all 26-counties in the Rural Development Single Family Guarantee Home Loan Program in 2005. Overstreet said, "we really appreciate this award. Rural Development's Home Loan Guarantee program has been a real help to us." As co-owner of Key Mortgage Company, he says they are able to make loans over the entire state. Revival starts Friday, July 7, 2006 at Cornerstone

There will be a weekend revival at Cornerstone Freewill Baptist Church, on Hwy 1729, with Bro. Lonzo Wiggington from Indianapolis, IN, as evangelist.

Services will begin each night at 6:30 on Friday night July 7, and continue Sunday night, July 9, 2006.

The pastor, Bro. Vernon Luttrell, and the congregation invite everyone to attend.

Driver involved in crash with EMS vehicle dies in Lexington

Jeremy M. Mudd was pronounced dead on Saturday, July 1, 2006, at 5:50pm ET, by the Fayette County Coroner at UK Medical Center.

He was injured in a an accident with an EMS vehicle on Wednesday, June 28, 2006, at 3:10pm ET, in the limits of Springfield, KY, at the intersection of KY 55, Ky 555, and US 150.

Bill McClister, 74, Jamestown, KY, formerly of Adair County, died Saturday, July 1, 2006, at 4:25pm CT, at the Russell County Hospital, Russell Springs, KY.

A graveside service will be held Monday, July 3, 2006, at 10:30am CT, at McClister Cemetery, with Bro. Curtis Ballenger officiating. Visitation will be after 8:30am CT, Monday, July 3, 2006, at Grissom Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY.

People these days are familiar with many passages from the Old Testament books of Genesis and Exodus, but few 21st century Christians hear much about the book that comes next, Leviticus. Though it contains a scant few narrative stories, Leviticus primarily relates the detailed practices to be overseen by the Levites - members of the tribe of Levi - and the priests of the ancient Hebrews. To say that this section of Old Testament law is detailed is a major understatement. The book describes a holiness code, a religious reaction or practice in reply to nearly every conceivable aspect of ancient life.
