Governor says yes to bypass around Columbia By Stacey Bailey, Director of Economic Development The Columbia-Adair County Chamber of Commerce organized a visit to our State capitol on February 12. Thirteen Chamber members made the trip to Frankfort. Our day was filled with tours, greetings and handshakes, photo ops, lunch (of course), observation of the legislative session in both the House and Senate, and meetings. Our first stop in Frankfort was the Governors mansion. We were given a tour of the first level of the home that was built in 1914. The mansion has been the residence of every governor since that time including our current governor, Ernie Fletcher.
