During the meeting a vote was taken to put the Burkesville Street project back into play, with Stotts Construction Company as the contractor and Monarch Engineering continuing as engineers, as originally agreed. And the board received an update on the Lindsey Wilson College Water Tower Renovation from General Manager Lenny Stone, who said that work will begin in a matter of a few days, with a pre-construction conference set for 1pmCT, Friday, May 20, 2016, between CAUD officials and Huffman Tank & Tower of Albany, KY, the low bidders on the job. CAUD Commissioners voted 3-0 to proceed with the exterior innovation at their April 19, 2016 meeting. The cost of the project will be $271,000, exclusive of engineering fees. Lindsey Wilson College will pay for the cost of the Raider Bob logo on the tower. Tony Brummett, Russell Co, arrested on alleged drug charges According to a report on the Facebook page of Russell County Sheriff Clete McAninch (Facebook.com/Russell-County-Sheriffs-Dept): "On Wednesday, May 11th (2016) at approximately 8:25 p.m. a Search Warrant was executed on a room at the Alligator Inn Motel on South KY 76, about 8 miles east of Russell Springs as part of an investigation by members of the Russell County Sheriff’s Department. The search resulted in the arrest of Tony Brummett, 55, of Jamestown, on a charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree—Methamphetamine. The investigation is ongoing and is being conducted by Sheriff Clete McAninch, Det. Joey Hoover and Deputy Evan Burton. Brummett was processed and lodged in the Russell County Detention Center. #RCSO1446."Issuance of warrants and/or arrests are not findings of guilt. KSP Telecommunications Academy Graduates Eighth Class Graduates include Julie McDonald, Post 15, Columbia. The six-week course includes instruction on public safety, stress and ethics. By Les Williams Frankfort, KY - Eleven Kentucky State Police telecommunicators from throughout the Commonwealth were recognized today at graduation ceremonies for the eighth class of the agency's in-house Telecommunications Academy. Representing seven agency posts, the group began its studies on April 4, 2016 at the KSP Training Academy in Frankfort. The course provided 236 hours of instruction during a six-week period. The curriculum included subjects such as: legal liability, limits of telecommunicator authority, the telecommunicator's role in public safety, interpersonal communications, customer service, interaction with the news media, stress, ethics and confidentiality, responder safety, basic fire dispatch, state emergency operations plans, criminal justice information systems, cardio pulmonary resuscitation, first aid training, emergency medical dispatch and special needs callers.
