He was a farmer and of the Baptist Faith. He was the son of the late Oren and Bertha Hayes Word. His wife, Norma Willenberg Word, survives. He was the patriarch of a large, highly respected family. Visitation will be from 5pm until 8pmCT, Saturday, May 14, 2016, and after 9amCT, Sunday at the funeral home.
