Billy Fletcher, 84, Columbia, KY (1942-2026) Billy Fletcher of Columbia passed away on March 2, 2026, at the T. J. Samson Community Hospital in Glasgow. He was 84 years old. Funeral services will be held at 1pmCT on Sunday, March 8, 2026, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg St., Columbia, KY, with Bro. Todd Smith and Bro. Nick Sparks officiating. Burial will follow in the Haven Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be on Saturday from 4pmCT until 8pmCT, and will continue Sunday until time for the service at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home. Three-Part Estate Planning Program from Extension Service From Nick Roy Adair County Extension Agent for Agriculture & Natural Resources The Adair County Extension Office will host a three-session Estate Planning Program this spring, giving local residents the opportunity to learn how to plan for the future, protect their assets, and support their loved ones through thoughtful preparation. Sessions will begin March 23, 2026, and continue weekly through April 6, 2026. Each session will begin at 6pmCT at the Adair County Extension Office, 409 Fairground Street, Columbia, KY. Designed to address the most essential aspects of estate planning, the program brings together professionals from insurance, law, accounting, and end-of-life care. Each session focuses on a different topic area, allowing attendees to build a strong understanding of how wills, trusts, tax planning, and advanced directives work together in a well-rounded estate plan. The series will kick off on March 23 with Developing Your Estate Plan, led by Brent Hall of Southern Farm Bureau and Beth Owens Blankenship of Kentucky Farm Bureau. During this session, presenters will outline the fundamentals of creating an estate plan, highlight common pitfalls to avoid, and explain how thoughtful preparation can provide financial security and lasting peace of mind.
