Pharmaceutical companies may sell drugs direct U.S. patients currently face the highest prescription drug prices in the world. Several drug manufacturers are reported to begin selling certain prescription medicines directly to American patients and discount other high-priced drugs. Bruce Neal Hogue, 58, Russell County, KY Bruce Neal Hogue, of Jamestown, passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at his home. He was 58 years of age. Born on November 5, 1967, in Somerset, he was a son of the late Vernon and Myra Wesley Hogue. Bruce had several professions in life. He was a finance manager and a local business owner, among other ventures as well. He loved hunting, fishing, and playing golf. Bruce was a person who never met a stranger, who deeply loved his family and friends. He loved animals, especially his beloved dog, Spanky. Jerald Eugene Reynolds, 82, Green County, KY Jerald Eugene Reynolds of Summersville, Kentucky son of the late William Goebel Reynolds and Velma Lillian Riddle Reynolds, was born on Saturday, July 17, 1943 in Adair County and departed this life on Sunday, November 23, 2025 at his home following a long and courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. He was 82 years, 4 months, and 6 days of age. He had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Liberty Separate Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Adair County High School, then went on to serve in the military. He served his country honorably, having served in the United States Army where he was stationed in Korea. His military service continued for many years as a dedicated member of the Army National Guard, from which he eventually retired with honor. He went on to retire from International Harvester/Navistar. TJ Samson gets straight-As for patient safety From Stacey Biggs Glasgow, KY - T.J. Samson Community Hospital was awarded an "A" Hospital Safety Grade for the fifth consecutive time by The Leapfrog Group, an independent national nonprofit watchdog focused on patient safety. This designates T.J. Samson as a "Straight A" hospital, defined as hospitals that have an A for fall 2025 and have sustained that grade for the last five or more grading rounds. This select group represents around 12% of all eligible hospitals in the nation, and only 2% in Kentucky. "Achieving our fifth consecutive 'A' Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is a remarkable accomplishment, and it speaks to the dedication, skill, and compassion of our providers and staff," said Neil Thornbury, CEO of T.J. Regional Health. LWU Department of Theatre to present A Holiday Cabaret By Duane Bonifer A Christmas classic will return to Lindsey Wilson University during the first week of December. The Lindsey Wilson University Department of Theatre will present "A Holiday Cabaret" at 7pmCT on Thursday and Friday, December 4-5, 2025, and at 2pmCT on Sunday, December 7, 2025, at V.P. Henry Auditorium. Admission to the production is a can or a box of non-perishable food. Cash donations will also be accepted. City of Columbia thanks those who help stock Blessing Boxes From Trey Stephens City of Columbia | Assistant to the Mayor On Monday, November 24, 2025, several blessing boxes throughout greater Columbia were restocked with donated food goods. The City would like to thank Paul and Cathy Abell for their hard work distributing the goods. The City would also like to thank all that have and continue to donate to various food drives all across Columbia and Adair County. For those with a need in addition to the blessings boxes around the community the Adair County Food Pantry will be open 9am-12pm on Tuesday as well as several other food and dinner giveaway events through the holiday weekend. Lindsey Wilson announces Phil Hanna Cultural Affairs Series Gifts of more than $100,000 will support university's efforts to attract artists, authors, musicians and speakers to campus. By Duane Bonifer For more than 20 years, the late Phil Hanna helped enhance Lindsey Wilson University's living-learning environment by leading the Lindsey Wilson Cultural Affairs Series. Now, thanks to several major gifts, the series he led will now bear his name -- the Phil Hanna Cultural Affairs Series. Recent gifts to the Cultural Affairs Series fund total more than $100,000, which will support an annual budget to bring speakers, musicians, authors and artists to campus. The largest gift comes from Hanna's estate. "These gifts -- as well as future gifts to the Phil Hanna Cultural Affairs Series endowment fund -- will significantly enhance the university's cultural affairs programming," said Lindsey Wilson Vice President for Academic Affairs Ray Lutgring. "The gifts will have an impact not only on our campus but also on the greater community as well, as Lindsey Wilson continues to strive to provide cultural affairs programming that appeals to both our students as well as to area residents." The Green County Arts Council, in coordination with the City Of Greensburg, is creating a small town Christmas to remember, featuring events and activities for kids of ALL ages, young and old, as early as 10amCT on December 5. The themed celebration "Making Memories" begins with a Winter Wonderland Boutique Market, from 10amCT to 5pmCT, at the Community Center at 110 N. 1st Street, Greensburg, KY. Come shop local with unique and hand-made or crafted goods for the special people in your life (or treat yourself!). The FREE Ice Rink opens at 1pmCT on Court Street in front of City Hall and will be open til 7pmCT.
