Travel: A trip to Aalborg, Denmark Note: Veronica has kindly shared many images of her travels this past week, and we'll be adding several over the next few days. Please bookmark this article to see them all in one place. By Veronica Arnold We are in a city in northern Denmark called Aalborg. Has some buildings from the 1400s and 1500s! But today we were so tired that we wandered out for dinner, looked around and went back to our hotel. As we went to bed, the night life was starting. Many pedestrian zones in the older parts of town. Popular food items we saw, Burgers! Yup. Everywhere. From a Burger King, to a British pub selling a pub burger to a falafel stand selling some next to pizza. Many were coming out for a small meal, they eat a bigger one in middle of the day. Then once they have their smaller meal, they meet up and have a drink. Even though it was cold outside, still many stay outside having a pint. I attached a picture of one pub which apparently likes Holstein cows. A disco cow! This traveler left that scene for a comfy bed and good slippers! Ciao ciao, -Arnolds of Fairplay 2025-10-22 13:38:38 | Comments | Printable version

Lindsey Wilson students get close-up view of Frankfort By Duane Bonifer A group of Lindsey Wilson University students recently met with Kentucky communication professionals and observed state government in action on a recent trip to Frankfort. The students -- members of the "Political Communication and Public Affairs" class taught by communication faculty member Katelyn Brooks -- observed a meeting of the Tobacco Settlement Agreement Fund Oversight Committee and got to know communications staff members of the Kentucky State Senate President on an October 9, 2025, trip to the state capital. For the four students who made the trip with Brooks and communications professor Zachary Isaacs, it was their first time touring the Kentucky state capitol. And they said they were impressed with what they saw and heard -- especially from Angela Billings, who is communications director for the Senate Republicans, and Miles Huff, who is communications manager for the Senate GOP.
