CU hosting 500 Years of the Bible in English By Gerard Flanagan Campbellsville University is hosting "500 Years of the Bible in English," an exhibition and lecture series showcasing the evolution and history of the Bible in the English language. The exhibit will be hosted Monday, August 25 and Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at CU's Heilman Welcome Center, 404 N. Hoskins Ave., Campbellsville. The exhibit will include many rare and original English Biblical artifacts predating the famous King James Version. Proclamation honors AC Deputy Hunter Tweedy Whereas: The safety and well-being of our community depend on the courage, quick thinking, and dedication of our law enforcement officers; and Whereas: Sheriff Deputy Hunter Tweedy, in the line of duty, displayed extraordinary bravery and decisive action when responding to a critical emergency involving a severely injured motorcyclist; and Whereas: Deputy Tweedy, without hesitation, applied a life saving tourniquet to the motorcyclist, effectively controlling severe bleeding and stabilizing the victim until emergency medical personnel could arrive; and Whereas: his swift and skilled response directly contributed to saving the life of the injured individual and exemplified the highest standards of public service and professional excellence. Now therefore, I, Larry Russell Bryant, Judge Executive of Adair County, do hereby recognize and commend Sheriff Deputy Hunter Tweedy for his heroism, professionalism, and dedication to protecting and serving our community. KY70 in Casey Co. to be temporarily closed beginning Sept 2 From Amber Hale Somerset, KY - The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) advises motorists that beginning Tuesday, September 2, 2025, KY 70 in Casey County will be temporarily closed as crews perform bridge deck restoration work. The closure will take place on the Green River bridge (mile point 14.6), located between U.S. 127 and KY 1649. The bridge will be closed to through traffic for approximately four weeks. TJRH diabetes education program merits ADA recognition From Stacey Biggs The T.J. Regional diabetes self-management education program in Glasgow, Kentucky has been awarded recognition from the American Diabetes Association. This program offers high-quality education services to the patients it serves. The ADA Education Recognition effort, begun in the fall of 1986, is a voluntary process that assures that approved education programs have met the National Standards for Diabetes Self-Management Education Programs. Programs that achieve Recognition status have a staff of knowledgeable health professionals who can provide state-of-the-art information about diabetes management for participants. Adair Marching Band hosts 48th Mark Twain Exhibition By Amber Hobaugh This past Saturday, music filled the air in Columbia as the Adair County High School Marching Band hosted their annual pre-season Mark Twain Exhibition. Marking year 48 with a bang, the group took the event back to its roots as it was hosted on the historical Adair County Booster Field. "21 out of 24 State Championship groups from Adair County began their seasons hosting Mark Twain on that field. It was nostalgic and it just felt right," said Adair Band Director Jonathon Holmes. Jeanette Faye Parrott, 89, Taylor County, KY Jeanette Faye White Parrott of Campbellsville, Kentucky, daughter of the late William Howard White and Anne Louise White, was born on Tuesday, March 10, 1936 in Campbellsville and departed this life on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at Green River Trails Nursing Home in Greensburg. She was 89 years, 5 months, and 10 days of age. She had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Campbellsville Methodist Church. She was employed at Taylor Regional Hospital for many years where she loved her job. Jeanette loved life and was a joy to be around. Her favorite thing to do while away from work was to travel and see new things throughout the world.
