Volleyball: Blue Raiders complete perfect weekend The Lindsey Wilson volleyball team handled its business on Saturday afternoon, August 16, 2025, to improve to 4-0 for the first time since 2020. The Blue Raiders shutdown a physical Loyola (LA) side before pulling away from Spartanburg Methodist (SC) to cap off a perfect opening weekend in the Roar and Raid Invitational. Petra Fernandez Garcia led the home team in kills across both matches, finishing with 33 while hitting a solid 0.343. Garcia was also one of five Blue Raiders to record three or more service aces on the day as Lindsey Wilson outaced its opponents 24-9. Defensively, Momo Hampton averaged three digs per set on her way to a team-leading 24. Lindsey Wilson takes the next two weeks off from competition before traveling to Waxahachie, TX, on August 29-30, 2025, for the Texas Two Step Tournament. Hedges looking for Little League Cheer Director Update: A cheer director has been found for the upcoming season. From Daniel Hedges I am in need of a Cheer Director for Adair County Little League Basketball. The person is responsible for organizing teams, coaches, and communicating what is needed in terms of uniforms and supplies to me, so I can order. I have a small amount of money I can offer in pay for doing it. The cheer director does NOT need to attend all the games. If interested contact me at 270-282-3175 with your name and we can talk. Bayou Brothers Louisiana Fish House ribbon cutting From Kim Harwood, Executive Director Edmonton Metcalfe County Chamber of Commerce The Edmonton-Metcalfe County Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon cutting on Friday, August 14, 2025, for the Bayou Brothers Louisiana Fish House at 698 Crail Hope Road, Hardyville, KY. The crowd enjoyed a live radio remote with WLOC 101.7, a ribbon cutting, sweet treats, and special menu options for the day. The Chamber Board of Directors ordered hot crab dip and crab stuffed mushrooms, and they were outstanding! Mardi Gras Beads with a Bayou Brothers medallion were handed out and proudly worn by all in attendance. Chamber President Daniel Bragg welcomed the crowd and shared his enthusiasm for good seafood and the impact local businesses have on a community. Sandy and Kathy Guillot, wives of the Bayou Brothers, welcomed everyone there and thanked everyone for the support they have been shown.
