Adair County's history related to word Shiloh By Vonnie Kolbenschlag Col William and Jane Casey, very early residents of Adair County, had a log church built on their property, not far from their house built in 1816. It was named Shiloh and was the first organized Presbyterian Church in Adair County. The log church no longer exists, but William and Jane Casey's house still does. Casey's grave is in the cemetery (now badly overgrown) but well-marked, near the location where the Shiloh Church once was. After Col. Casey's death, Jane, with son, Green Casey, and others, moved north, eventually settling in West Point, Iowa, where they built a brick Presbyterian Church and Jane taught Sunday School. Her grave is marked with a large tombstone.
