How to be sure a utility person is legit Storms with heavy rain and high winds take a toll on homes this time of year, bringing utility people knocking on the door. This note provides a few tips on how to feel sure it's a real dlocal service representative. - From local utility service KU/LGE Authentic ID cards will feature the employee's photo and name, plus a company logo. Also be sure to confirm the vehicle they arrived in features the same logo. If you're still not sure, note the person's name and politely ask them to wait outside. Then call us (LG&E and KU at 502-589-1444 or 800-331-7370 and ODP at 800-981-0600), and they'll help confirm the person is in fact a representative from the company. Finally, keep in mind that our employees visiting your home will never ask for payment or personal information, including credit or debit card numbers. Patricia Wethington, Adair County, KY (1938-2025) Patricia Sue Wethington of Columbia, KY passed away Wednesday, June 4th, 2025. She was born December 23, 1938, the youngest of four children born to Mary Gladys Russell and Charles Lee Fisher. A few years later the family moved to Plattsburg, MO. Patricia was proceeded in death by her parents, husband James Harold, daughter Alice May who passed away as an infant in 1960, grandchildren Chase and McKenna Wethington-Padgett in 2011, three sisters Juanita Gilmore, Corrine Selvy, and Charlene Wayman. Patricia attended many years in grade school and high school there. In 1953 Patricia went to John Brown Military Academy in Siloam Springs, AR. She graduated from Mercy Academy in Marshall, Missouri, in 1956. Guy commented on how pretty it was, so rather than putting it outside where I had intended for it to go, I laid it in front of the stove (range) and admired how it fit the room. Seconds after setting it down, I decided to make a cup of coffee. I stood on one side of the mat--it didn't say "Welcome"--while the Kerg stood on the other. You know what's coming. I turned, stepped on the mat, and sailed through the air like a kite. It slid to my right while I went down on my left. I banged my head on the wooden cabinet. I think it bounced. At first, Guy thought I had fainted and then slipped. The cracking sound from the head hitting the wood cabinet led Guy to either call the ambulance or try to get me up.
