LWC Education Program receives national reaccreditation From Duane Bonifer The Lindsey Wilson College education program has received straight A's on its version of a report card. The college's education program has received a seven-year affirmation from the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation, the national body that evaluates and accredits teacher-preparation programs. Lindsey Wilson's education program has been reaccredited without any recommendations. "This is incredible news because the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation accreditation process is very thorough and rigorous," said Lindsey Wilson Education Program Director Jennifer Antoniotti-Neal '98. Antoniotti-Neal said the reaffirmation of national accreditation is also evidence that the Lindsey Wilson education program has "maintained its standard of excellence." Kentucky Color: Twin Maples By Billy Joe Fudge Twin Maples stand sentry over the South side of my home. No they are not identical twins. The near one is a Red Maple and the other is a Sugar Maple. The definition of a sentry is, "a guard, esp., a soldier stationed to prevent unauthorized passage". I stationed these two soldiers 30 years ago with orders to allow direct sunlight during winter to pass onto my house to help my heat pump with heating it. Their orders for summer were to stop direct sunlight from passing onto my house to help my air conditioner cool it. As you can see in the attached photo, they are doing their job spectacularly. However, one of the ramifications of shade is some sun loving grasses like Fescue won't do well in deep shade. Consequently, I recently sowed Blue Grass because it loves the shade. Hopefully, I will soon have a blanket of grass to cover their space. And yes, after these guys matured, I estimate they are saving me near $100 per month on my electric bill the five months of late fall and winter and the four months of late spring and summer. CPD: Pair arrested for outstanding warrants From the Columbia Police Department On Thursday, May 29, 2025, at approximately 12:43amCT, Columbia Police Department Officer Elliot Smith was conducting a routine patrol when he observed individuals with active warrants walking near the Bomar Heights area. After watching them enter a nearby business, Officer Smith approached the establishment and made contact with both the employees and the individuals in question.
