Boil Water Advisory Update: This Boil Water Advisory has been lifted. From Columbia/Adair Utilities District Date Issued 6/20/2024 Time Issued 10:05 A.M. A Boil Water Advisory is in effect for consumers on Lampton Lane, Short Lane, Paradise Lane, Bobby Dale Ln and 177 Brummett Road. The advisory has been issued due to main line break. Following such an event, the potential exists for bacteriological contamination of the water supply therefore this Boil Water Advisory has been issued as a precautionary measure. Until further notice, boil all water used for drinking and cooking, bringing the water to a rolling boil for three minutes before using. This advisory will remain in effect until the situation has been corrected and test results have shown the water to be of an acceptable quality. Squirrel negotiations and what not to do If you've had trouble with squirrels digging up your bulbs and plants and eating your flower buds, consider this advice from This Old House magazine. The editors tried several repellents that tasted or smelled foul, and these worked for a while. But the products have to be applied every week, which can turn out to be quite a chore. They found that bribery worked best. They put ears of dried corn in the very back of the yard in both spring and fall. This kept the squirrels fed and less likely to eat garden foliage and bulbs.
