Carol Perkins: The Queen Previous Column: Thrifting By Carol Perkins As I was watching the Queen's Platinum Jubilee, I thought about the long life of the Queen, how she assumed the throne when her father died, and how she has maintained a "stiff upper lip" for all these seventy years while her family has been on the world's stage. In the coverage of the Jubilee, the commentators seemed more interested in the whereabouts of Megan and Harry than the events. Rather than the gossip, I focused on minor things. Most of the royal men are balding. The cameras must have been set to view the heads of Charles, William, and Harry. I paid attention to the women's clothing and speculated on the cost of each outfit. Not one outfit came from TJ Maxx, and I didn't see one pair of pants on a female. My favorite outfit was a hot pink dress with a matching hat. Nothing flamboyant about the men. I speculated about the Queen's wardrobe, too. Article continues... click title or click here to read whole article. 2022-06-03 10:51:59 | Comments | Printable version | See topic Carol Perkins
