LWC Men's Soccer exits MSC Tournament after loss to Cumberlands By Kyle Jackson Campbellsville, KY - The No. 2-seed Lindsey Wilson men's soccer team lost 3-0 to the No. 3-seed Cumberlands (KY) in the semifinal match of the 2020-21 Men's Soccer Mid-South Conference Tournament Saturday afternoon. David Ibrahimkadic led the Blue Raiders on the evening with three shots as Cyrus Harmon had the only shot on goal for the Blue Raiders. David Coffey led the game in saves, making 3 in the match. As a team, the Blue Raiders were outshot by the Patriots 15-7 with a 6-1 shot on goal mark in favor of the opponents. LWC Volleyball faces Georgetown in MSC Tournament Championship By Kyrin Mayfield The winner of the Mid-South Conference Tournament will be decided on Saturday as the No. 1-seed Lindsey Wilson volleyball team goes head-to-head with No. 3-seed Georgetown (KY) for the title. First serve is scheduled for 12:30pmCT at Bowling Green High Arena. The Blue Raiders are aiming for their sixth tournament championship in a row, while the Tigers last won the title in 2014, which was the most recent year a school other than Lindsey Wilson was crowned champion. LWC Women's Track and Field grabs First at Centre Twilight By Brady Budke Danville, KY - The Lindsey Wilson women's track and field team corralled a first place finish at the Centre Twilight on Friday at Farris Stadium on the campus of Centre College. This marks the second straight meet that the Blue Raiders have brought home a team victory. LWC notched 152 total points to win the 12-team event. Centre was close behind in second with 125 points. Lindsey Wilson produced five first-place finishes, three of which included Ty'Nasia Walker who shined today in Danville. Walker claimed the top spot in the triple jump and 100 meter dash while assisting the 4x100 meter relay to victory. Gov. Beshear provides Friday update on COVID-19 By Crystal Staley/Sebastian Kitchen Frankfort, KY - On Friday, Gov. Andy Beshear announced 744 new COVID-19 cases and a 2.79% positivity rate. "It's encouraging to see our positivity rate decrease again, but we need to work even harder to make sure our weekly case numbers start decreasing again as well," said Gov. Beshear. LCDHD COVID-19 Public Information Brief 4/9/2021 By Amy Tomlinson Lake Cumberland District Health Department Now the COVID-19 vaccinations are open to everyone! Let's finish strong and everyone get the vaccine as soon as you can. While we saw a local decline in new cases this week, at the state level, the new case rate went up. Last week, for Lake Cumberland, we added 175 new cases, this week, 154. This brought down our 7-day incidence rate from 11.94 new cases per 100,000 per day to 10.51 per 100,00 per day. One death occurred since last Friday. We have 128 active cases today compared to 160 last Friday. However, we have 25 hospitalized COVID-19 cases today compared to 17 last Friday. Currently, our 7-day average incidence chart is showing 7 counties in the "yellow-community-spread" category, Adair, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, Russell, Taylor, and Wayne; 2 counties in the "orange-accelerated" range of community-spread: McCreary, and Pulaski; 1 county in the "red-critical" range: Casey.
