KYTC: Motorists should expect some refreezing tonight By Wes Watt After battling frigid temperatures and multiple winter weather storm systems for more than a week, Kentucky Transportation Cabinet District 3 crews have made progress in clearing roadways. Most priority A routes and priority B routes are in good shape. Priority C routes have been treated and plowed multiple times with many of them in good shape. Some priority C routes still have coverage or partially coverage depending on the area. Some counties will be staying over tonight to continue to work, while others will be suspending operations until tomorrow. Temperatures are expected to dip well below 20 degrees tonight and salting will not be option. Counties continuing operations will focus on areas they can still plow. All counties will resume snow & ice operations in the morning. Lots of roadways had a significant amount of water on them this afternoon due to melting of the snow. Motorists should expect some of these areas to refreeze overnight. Secondary and rural routes will still have some slick spots on them so motorists should use caution and adjust driving behavior if out tonight and in the morning. 2021-02-18 16:16:33 | Comments | Printable version
