Weather: Fundah! Wightening! By Linda Waggener It’s a stormy night with rumbles of thunder and flashes of lightning. I'm remembering being serenaded by three young men in the back seat, singing the Bugs Bunny song to the top of their lungs in the little blue bug which ran perfectly - occasionally - that we called the Omnicoot. The song bears down scarily on the words thunder and lightening, only in Bugs speak, and the boys sang it perfectly, it was “Fundah!!! Wightening!!!” Christopher Rowe, Pen and Tom Waggener where the singers. They were in the 10 to 14 year age range, that sweet time when an adult can enjoy such goodness from children who still need them ... to drive. The Governor delayed his news conference Thursday until the memorial service concluded. "Today, the best thing I can do is let the words of Mr. Floyd's memorial lead the way and renew our commitment to make sure the world looks different moving forward," Gov. Beshear said. James asks lawmakers to limit no-knock warrants By Jim Hannah, LRC Frankfort, KY - Louisville Metro Council President David James asked lawmakers for help in rebuilding the community's trust after days of protests following the fatal police shooting of Breonna Taylor. Among his proposals was creation of a civilian review board and a call for a statewide reduction in no-knock warrants, which he called dangerous for both police officers and civilians. "To help with the police issue, we have to build back credibility in our police department," James said while testifying before today's meeting of the Interim Joint Committee on Judiciary. "There has to be trust between the community and police for policing to ever work and be successful." Update on Rep. Bam Carney: cards encouraged Bro. John Chowning shares this update on Representative John Bam Carney from his brother, Mark. Bam has now been at Kindred Jewish for 16 days. The awesome thing is he has been able to have a visitor for 7 of those days. The visits really have seemed to help Bam and each of us. He continues to have the drains coming out of his stomach, still has the wound vac, and is still on a feeding tube. He is also now on a liquid diet and is able to eat jello, broth, and frozen lemon desert. This past Saturday, I was lucky enough to be with him when he was able to feed himself for the first time in 5 months and 7 days. It took him awhile to get the spoon from the dish to his mouth but he did it!
