Three new Hepatitis-A cases reported in Taylor Co. No additional cases of Hepatitis A were reported in Adair, Casey Green, Metcalfe or Russell Counties between September 29 and October 6, 2018, but three additional Hepatitis A cases were reported in Taylor Co. during that period, according to the latest report from Kentucky Department for Public Health, available at chfs.ky.gov. No data was available for Cumberland County. Taylor has seen 1-3 addition cases per week for the last several weeks of reporting, bringing the total to 35 reported cases during the August 1, 2017 – October 6, 2018 period covered by the KY DPH's most recent publication (Acute Hepatitis A Outbreak Week 40 Report (PDF).

Traffic safety checkpoint leads to felony arrest NOTE: An arrest is not a finding of guilt. An individual placed under arrest is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty at some later criminal proceeding. By Tpr. Nick Hale On September 19, 2018 at approximately 11pmCT, Trooper Zach Scott was on routine patrol in the limits of Columbia when he located a stolen Kia Spectra. Trooper Scott attempted to initiate a traffic stop at which time the motorist fled. The driver fled on foot after losing control of the vehicle and running off the roadway on Hurt Street. Trooper Scott lost visual contact with the subject. Through reviewing surveillance videos at a local business, Trooper Scott was able to confirm the identity of the driver as 22 year old Dakota Bannigan of Columbia, and obtained warrants against him. Gentry sentenced to 10 years for murder-for-hire plot Edmonton Herald-News Read the full story at jpinews.com Edmonton resident Kevin Scott Gentry, 51, was sentenced Oct. 10, 2018 to 10 years in prison for his 2016 attempted murder plot. Gentry was arrested March 28, 2016 after attempting to hire an undercover officer from the Kentucky State Police to kill James M. Darnell. Amazon announced it was raising the minimum wage for hourly employees, including seasonal employees, to $15 an hour. Joe and Susan Walters establish professorship in marketing at WKU By Tommy Newton Joe and Susan Walters, of Campbellsville, KY, have made a gift to establish the Joseph L. Walters Professorship in Marketing in Western Kentucky University's Gordon Ford College of Business. Joe Walters, a first-generation college student from Green County who received a Bachelor of Science in Management from WKU, started working at the bookstore on campus in 1976 even before he started taking classes. Closures Scheduled for I-65/BG Parkway Ramps By Chris Jessie As work continues to finish the rehabilitation project of I65 in Hardin County, ramp closures at the Bluegrass Parkway interchange are scheduled over the next two weeks. The southbound I65 ramp to eastbound Bluegrass Parkway (Exit 93) will be closed beginning at 9pmET on Friday, October 19th. Motorists needing access to eastbound Bluegrass Parkway will continue southbound on I65 to Exit 91 and reverse course to Exit 93 via northbound I65. This closure will remain in place until 6amET on Wednesday, October 24th. The westbound Bluegrass Parkway ramp to southbound I65 will be closed beginning at 9pmET on Friday, October 26th. All westbound Bluegrass Parkway traffic will use the northbound I65 exit and those needing access to southbound I65 will use the Exit 94 interchange.
