Peggy Fudge: Rumble strips, better lighting would help at Bypass

'Any really good fix will be expensive. Where does money come from for a big project on a state highway that's in the city limits? - Peggy Fudge
Comments: re article 99428: Sue Buley - Only problem with Bypass is difficulty seeing lights

By Peggy Fudge

And I thought it was just my aging eyes that was the problem with seeing the lights.

I do think rumble strips would be helpful and really big signs indicating 'stop ahead' or similar.

Sue Buley: Only problem with Bypass is difficulty seeing lights

By Sue Buley writes:

In my humble opinion, the only thing I see wrong with the intersection is that it is hard to see the color of the lights during certain parts of the day. However, that just makes me slow down even more so that I can make sure what color they are. I honestly believe the real problem is drivers being distracted. I mean no disrespect to anyone that has been involved in a wreck there. I just don't see the problem being the intersection. - Sue Buley

Anon: Well designed roundabout is needed at Bypass

Comments re article 99395 Letter Roundabout is easy solution

Anon writes:
Mr. Bray is absolutely correct. A well-designed, two-lane roundabout with proper signage (in short, everything the Public Square *isn't*) and an appropriate speed limit on the approach to and exit from the roundabout would enhance traffic flow while curtailing the speed of vehicles on the flat stretch between the hills. - Anon
