Huh-wo? Huh-wo?

2017-07-14 - Downtown Columbia, KY - Photo by Linda Waggener, columbiamagazine.com.
Axtyn, a curious two-year-old toddler, discovered this outdated land line phone and even though he is growing up in a world of cell phones, had no trouble knowing what its purpose was. He did have a little challenge knowing which end of the old receiver went to his ear and which went to his mouth, but he completely understood the concept. He clearly anticipated an answer, saying patiently over and over and over to the phone, "Huh-wo?"

Willenia Curry: Airing grievance on placement of speed limit sign

By Willenia Curry

I was driving through town this morning and was coming out of Columbia on 61 South and realized that the speed limit sign that changes speed limit to 55 is just before the stop light at 61 and Veterans Parkway and just thought: wouldn't it be safer to have that sign placed on the other side of the light because you can't even see the stop light where the speed limit sign is located.

Just a thought, but don't believe you should go from 45 to 55 within less than a quarter of a mile from a major intersection. It's fine for those of us who live here and pass that way everyday; but, for those from out of town it just seems to me it would be safer. Thank you for listening to my grievance. --Willenia Curry
