Memories of a great ride: 1964 Grand Turismo Studebaker Hawk

Robert Cumming writes:
Oh those wonderful Studebakers - always ahead of their time in styling and innovation. From designers like Brooks Stevens and Raymond Loewy in the fifties and sixties came the legendary Studebaker Golden and Silver Hawks and futuristic fiberglass Avanti. My first car at 16 in 1971 was a beautiful black 1964 Gran Turismo Hawk with a factory R2 option supercharged 289 V8, dual exhaust, bucket seats, automatic console shifter on the floor, machine turned dash with full instrumentation. What a ride... --Robert Cumming
