Poetry by Joyce Coomer: Surfing the web

Photographs on the Internet
By Joyce Coomer
Blacktop and road signs
Light poles and wire
Concrete and metal railings
Riprap and sidewalks

Strip malls and high-rises
Fast food and chain stores
Overdone landscaping
Surveillance galore
What town?
What state?
What country?

It is flattery by imitation
Or lack of imagination
That drives this sameness
Enveloping the world?
