CAC-VFD: Firework Safety Guidelines

By Donald Hare

Although the Fourth of July is a time for fun and celebration, the Columbia-Adair County Volunteer Fire Department encourages everyone to carefully follow instructions when celebrating with fireworks. The safest way to enjoy fireworks is to attend one of the many public displays; however, if you plan a home fireworks display in a county that allows it, here are some safety guidelines to follow:

Charlene McInteer: Likes Diary of Josie Walker

Charlene McInteer writes:
I was just discussing the fair with my co-workers this morning. One is from Wayne Co. and the other from Pulaski Co. We were just noting how the fair has changed since we have been attending (the oldest of us is 54). I so enjoyed reading the excerpts of the diary printed in Columbia Magazine. The glimpse of the fairs back then was exciting for me to read, and I intend to share them with my co-workers. Thanks for such a great publication as Columbia Magazine. --Charlene McInteer
