I can't imagine for the life of me
what she saw in Ed.
It couldn't have been his exceeding good looks
it must have been something he said.

He always had a way with words
it helps in his profession.
His search for news and views of others
is one of his obsessions.

I hope they live many more years together
she's much more than he deserves.
and living with Ed must surely be
a terrible strain on her nerves.

But above all else I truly wish
them both much happiness and cheer.
And as the clock strikes midnight tonight
I wish Linda and Ed a prosperous and HAPPY NEW YEAR

Betty Sue (Sanders) Wethington, 74, Clementsville, KY

She was the daughter of the late Audy and Annie Campbell Sanders. Her husband of 57 years, Frank "Joe Matt" Wethington, survives. Mrs. Wethington was a homemaker and a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church.

Maxine Goode, Cincinnati, Ohio (1917-2015)

She was a native of Casey County, KY, and her finally resting place will be in the county of her birth. She was the daughter of the late Wiley & Amanda F. Sweeney Rubarts and the widow of McKermit Goode. She leaves one direct living descendant, a son, Kenny Goode of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Graveside funeral services and burial were held on Thursday, December 31, 2015, at the Antioch Cemetery in Casey County, KY. There were no services or visitation.

CHS girls' basketball team participates in tournament

Campbellsville High School girls' basketball team participated in the Lady Cougar After Christmas Tournament in McLean County on December 28 and 29, 2015.

The CHS squad lost to McLean County on Monday, December 28, by a score of 23-52.

100 Years Ago: Reminiscing about the 1870's

Nostalgia isn't a new invention. From the 1915 Adair County News, Melvin White reminisces about Party games, Sunday courting rituals, and Columbia, "a mighty emporium"

The rambling, loquacious, and pungently humorous letters of native son Melvin White frequently appeared in the Adair County News during the first quarter or so of the last century. In one such missive, dated December 28, 1915 and published in the paper eight days later, he reminisced about life and customs in Adair County in the middle to late 1870's.

Adair Board of Elections meets. Will consult with Fiscal Court

When County government reopens for business in January 2015, the first order of business will begin with left over controversy from 2014: Whether to continue paying legal bills for the Board of Election's fight to overturn a decision by Circuit Judge Judy Vance invalidating the Nov 2014 Mayoral Election and order a new one be held.

The Adair County Board of Elections met in a Special Called Meeting at 9amCT, Wed 30 Dec 2015 with a single item, an executive session, followed by a discussion and decision to consult with Fiscal Court on further payment of legal bills for the Board of Election's challenge to Adair County Circuit Court Judge Judy Vance's April 17, 2015 decision invalidating the November 2014 Mayoral Contest and ordering a new election.
