Happy Birthday, Chef Bill of Dale Hollow State Resort Park

2015-10-16 - Dale Hollow Resort Park, 5970 State Park RD, Burkesville, KY. - Photo by Ed Waggener.
Happy birthday 16 Oct 2015, Bill Ware, Columbia - Glens Fork - head chef at Dale Hollow State Resort Park in Burkesville, KY. He is a graduate of Adair County High School and Sullivan University's aclaimed Culinary Institute in Louisville. Learned his birthday is today. When Ruth Hadley, Marketing Manager at Dale Hollow State Resort Park and an Adair Countian & Lindsey Wilson graduate, was told that the food on the buffet was so good it was reminiscent of the days when Dallas Wade and later Earl Cundiff were managers at Lure Lodge, she said there was a reason - and introduced us to Bill Ware, Dale Hollow's "Chef Ware," whose birthday was today. Quite a fabulous cook, at one of the most beautiful places in the Commonwealth. By the way, the price of the lunch buffet is about the cost of a burger, fries, and drink at a fast food - $8.50, at lunch time. The drive from downtown Columbia is about an hour. Took a "Short Cut" home, across Wolf Creek Dam and it was only about 1 hour 45 minutes, including dawdles and a couple of fruitless quests for Big Red Zero. Chef Ware has a real short cut, up KY 704 to KY 768, thence to Short Cut Road in Adair County. Highly recommend his dining room, and wish him happy birthday, today. - EW

Adair Co. Clerk doing her best to make this election go smoothly

'No Electioneering' sign is standard issue. Poll workers will be doing their best to assist, but there is voter responsibility, too, Mss Vicky says.
Comments re article 78295 Letter Fancy words and particle physics

By Victoria Pike

I think those are standard issue. We went to election school today and Miss Lisa has all our signs posted on a big board so we as poll workers have one less thing to worry about.

She is trying her best to see that this election goes smoothly.

Squarecrow art: Pam Spires' did heck of a job

By Ralph Waggener

Personal art critique

Pam Spires the artist did a heck of a job on her Square crow artistic work. Maybe there should be a best artistic talent award. The Pumpkin Butt was funny and that is why it was the People's Choice. Pam's work had more intense artwork and would have won if this was an art only contest!

You had to stop and look close to her work to understand how much effort went into this painting on a window screen that was turned into art. Had you not pointed this out on CM, we would not recognized the artistic talent of Pam, Thanks for your art work, Pam Spires, it looks great. - Ralph Roy Waggener
