Hazel Virginia Shaw Huckelby, 85, Dubre, KY (1930-2015) She was the daughter of the late George Harrison & Bessie Franklin Shaw. She worked at Hanmacher and Osh Gosh B Gosh. She was a member of the Missionary Mound Baptist Church. She leaves five direct living descendants. Hazel Virginia Shaw Huckelby, age 85, of Dubre, died Sunday, October 11, 2015, at Monroe County Medical Center, Tompkinsville, KY. Funeral services will be Thursday, October 15, 2015, at 1pmCT, at the Missionary Mound Baptist Church, with Brother Dale Copas officiating. Burial will follow in the Marrowbone Cemetery. Dr. Ralph A. Tesseneer Jr., 91, Taylor Co., KY (1924-2015) He devoted his life in the areas of higher education and community involvement. To know him as an educator, all you had to do was ask one of his former students. One of them, Belinda Wilkins-Smith, had the opportunity a few years ago to thank Dr. Tesseneer personally for "having been the teacher who gave her that spark of Christian caring and encouragement, pushing her to apply her unique gifts in life which have served her so well." He will be greatly missed. Dr. Ralph Athen Tesseneer, Jr. of Campbellsville, KY, died at 5amET, on Sunday, October 11, 2015, at his home at the age of 91. Louisville Bridge to open ahead of schedule - Before Christmas! Public will have a chance to 'Walk the Bridge' before it opens to traffic Commonwealth News Center Louisville, KY - Speaking from the deck of the new Interstate 65 bridge in downtown Louisville, Gov. Steve Beshear announced today the bridge will open to two-way traffic ahead of schedule. "In January, I stood at the base of this massive project and announced we were accelerating the schedule," Gov. Beshear said. "Today, I'm walking on this beautiful new bridge and telling you we're moving even faster than expected. Drivers will get an early present - you will be driving on the new bridge by Christmas!" An exact date for the opening of the new bridge will be determined closer to that date. Gov. Beshear said the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet and crews with Walsh Construction are on budget and ahead of schedule. Officials are confident the bridge will be ready to carry traffic before Dec. 25.
