Rolling roadblocks next week on Interstate 65

From Tennessee State line to MM 54 at Barren-Hart County line to allow Reynolds Striping to replace pavement markers

By Wes Watt, Public Information Officer
Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, District 3, 2015

Bowling Green, KY - (25 Sep 2015) - Rolling Roadblocks will be in place beginning next week on Interstate 65 stretching from the Tennessee State Line (Mile marker 0) to the Barren/Hart County Line (mile marker 54). The rolling roadblocks will begin Monday night and go for about a week starting at 10pmCT and last until 7amCT each day.

The rolling roadblocks are being done so Reynolds Striping can work on replacing and repairing pavement markers. The crews will start on the northbound side at mile marker 0 and work north until about mile marker 54. Once northbound is complete, the crews will work their way southbound back the Tennessee State Line. The Kentucky State Police will be present during these roadblocks. Motorists need to use caution and be aware of the work going on the interstate. The rolling roadblocks could add additional travel time.

And Alan Reed's' daughter says she's always a proud follower

By Aimee Reed Kidd

If you know my dad, you know he's a true leader by example.

He led my brother and I when our lives were shattered by the loss of our mother as little children.

He lead our family by working two – sometimes three – jobs to make sure we had all what we needed and to better our lives.

Work on intersection lighting is progressing daily

By Victoria Pike
News from Greater Biliss

In talking today with one of the engineers overseeing the project I found out that we will be getting eight lights that will be 120 feet tall each with about 4000 watts of power each. Look out Greater Bliss, we are about to be able to see everything we want to at night around the interchange.

This is the most exciting news for this area in ages. People entering and exiting the area at night will be able to see and navigate more safely in the area that has had several accidents over the years since the interchange opened a few years ago.
