The Big Al, the Big Rig Trucker story: 1,000,000 Mile Milestone

When we go to the store for food, clothes, or whatever else we might want, we expect those items to be at the store available to buy. Very seldom do we ever consider how an item gets to the store. We don't give a second thought to the truck drivers - male and female - who through hard work and dedication get it there so it is available for us to purchase.

While industry is revered in America, sometimes, it's better to leave things alone. The first rule of stewardship: First do no harm. Save energy. Save resources. Enjoy God's Creation. The article written below echoes sentiments by Alicia Bosela, affirmed by George Kolbenschlag, and with loud amens from the front row pew at ColumbiaMagazine.com .

By Billy Joe Fudge, Retired State Forester
Kentucky Division of Forestry

Over the years while working for the Kentucky Division of Forestry, I had the pleasure of responding to literally hundreds of calls for assistance from homeowners and landowners across the 16 counties of the South Central District and beyond. During these times I accumulated many stories and encountered many scenarios concerning our human interaction with the natural ecosystems in which we live.
