Bad behavior kids blamed on parents

About: Memorial Day Observance marred by appalling behavior of a few motorists

To ColumbiaMagazine.com

First off let me just say that the young people are not to blame it's their parents!

They should have been taught to respect the vets at all cost if that means pulling off the road, or getting off the tractor. These men and women, like my father, gave this country their all. They fought for our freedoms - like watching your Tv, or going to the church, or wherever you want to go.

Just remember that without these men and women who have fought and are still fighting for our freedoms, who knows what our lives would be like today?

Be proud, stand tall and thank an American vet today.

Thank you.

A very proud daughter

R S P can do's can save lives on roadways

Almost every 'auto accident' is preventable

By Billy Joe Fudge

We are all appalled, as we should be, when tragic auto accidents injure, maim, or kill our friends, neighbors, families, and even those who we don't even know. This being said I think we need to consider a quote attributable to one of our most respected founding fathers, Benjamin Franklin, who said, "An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure".

I just wish that somehow we could all realize that with the possible exception of equipment malfunction, some sudden physical impairment of a driver or a meteor becoming a meteorite on top of a moving car, most every "auto accident" is preventable.

A record 52 students attended this year's school, which was held May 23-29 at Lindsey Wilson College. That's eight more than attended the school in 2009, which was then a record enrollment.

About: Wants to know authority on Veterans past and present of Adair Co., KY

Information for Bro. Patton

A few years ago I got a complete copy of my military records, by sending a letter of request and release to Sen McConnell's office.

They will need Name, Serial Number, and as much information as you can provide. I was told that when requested by a Senator it did not take as long to get the information.

Letter: Remembering meaning of Memorial Day

To ColumbiaMagazine.com:

This Memorial Day while everyone is attending the big sales, visiting family, going fishing or whatever I ask that they stop and try to remember why we have this holiday. It is a day that was set aside to honor those who gave their lives that we could be free to do all of the things mentioned above.

The following is quoted from "If theAmerican Flag offends you, I'll be happy to help you pack!":
